Famously Hot Chef Showdownowdown
WLTX Stage (Thursday, October 11 - 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)
The South Carolina State Fair extends a Royal Welcome to Celebrity Chef Darren McGrady, personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales and Princes' Willam and Harry for fifteen years and has cooked for five US Presidents. Chef McGrady will be the master of ceremonies for the second annual Famously Hot Chef Showdown. An Iron-Chef style culinary competition will showcase three (3) popular chefs in Columbia in a 1 1/2 hour competition that promises to have all the drama and thrills you would expect from a cooking competition. The chefs will battle it out live in front of fair goers and will be judged by a panel of guest judges to determine the ultimate winner of the Showdown.
Fire Safety House: Fire & Severe Weather Training by the Lexington County Fire Service
Near the Abernathy Horse Arena (Limited Engagement: Wed., Oct. 17 - Sun., Oct. 21)
Children will learn basic fire safety practices, inluding, how to crawl low under smoke, how to plan an escape route from your home and what to do if your clothes catch fire. Teenagers will learn about kitchen fire safety and the science of fire. Adults can learn about what to do in case of severe weather with education on this topic provided by the WIS-TV Storm Team. All training will be conducted in a Fire Safety House that will be on display near the Abernathy Horse Arena.

This is a dog gone fun show! Michelle's Magical Poodles is a family oriented trick dog show. It's entertaining and educational with a fire safety routine, classic dog tricks, poodle magic and training tips revealed.

This show is full of family fun and audience interaction. The animal cast has all come to the show from animal shelters and rescue originations from around the country. The animal cast includes dogs, house cats, and rats. The love they have found with their new life shines through each and every show.

This amazing hypnotist is an accomplished magician and mentalist. No other performer can compare to his talent! He'll make you laugh, no matter what!
South Gate
Don't miss this opportunity to encounter some of the most intelligent sea mammals - SEA LIONS! The show is geared around educating the audience on the habits and nuture of the sea lions and brings out the inherent comedic behavior of these animals: catching and retrieving objects, balancing, handstands, dancing, singing and interaction with the audience.
