GENERAL PARTICIPANT INFORMATION

HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR A CONTRACT?

  • New applicants must complete an application (see Related Links box).
  • Commercial Exhibitor applicants must enclose a $50.00 non refundable processing fee with the application. The application is not a proposal nor does it guarantee an agreement for participation in the South Carolina State Fair.
  • All applicants are given equal consideration based on available space and the Participant's ability to (1) meet criteria as specified on the application for space, (2) set up an attractive, professional display, (3) offer a  unique product of good quality, (4) meet financial responsibilities and all contractual obligations by specified date, and (5) conduct business in an ethical and professional manner.

DOES EVERYONE WHO APPLIES GET A SPACE? No. In order to present an interesting and balanced Fair to the public, and as a means of encouraging new services and products, it sometimes becomes necessary to deny repetitive requests, or requests for a specific size, location, or physical requirement that is not available. The number of new applications received annually is greater than available space.

ONCE I ACCEPT AN AGREEMENT FOR SPACE, CAN MY PRIVILEGES BE REVOKED? Yes. Violation of any terms and stipulations of the Space Rental Contract shall be cause for cancellation, and a forfeiture of all fees, rights and privileges granted.

WHEN ARE THE APPLICANTS NOTIFIED? Applicants are notified regarding the acceptance or denial of their application as soon as possible. New applicants need to return the completed application with a non-refundable $50.00 processing fee. Applications received after August 15 will not be considered for this years' Fair. The process of assigning space and notifying prospective Participant goes on through August. Please do not call regarding the status of your application.

Should your company be invited to participate in the South Carolina State Fair, an agreement valid for the current year Fair dates only will be issued. The cost to operate a Commercial Exhibit inside an exhibit building (the Hampton or Ruff Building) is a flat fee that is paid in full when the contract is submitted. The fee to operate an Independent Concession is a percentage of sales. A deposit payment is required when the contract is submitted.

The South Carolina State Fair Recognizes that the Fair is a proper forum for the free exchange of ideas necessary to a free society, yet it reserves the right to regulate all activities, concessions, and exhibits on the Fairgrounds with regards to time, manner and place in pursuance of its valid interest in maintaining peace and order and protection of the general public. Participants shall comply with all applicable city, county, state and federal laws, and be familiar with the procedures and information set forth in the Space Rental Contract.

INDOOR COMMERCIAL & NON-COMMERCIAL EXHIBITS

Indoor Commercial & Non-Commercial exhibits are housed in two exhibit halls that total 35,000 square feet. Exhibit booths are 9'x10' or 10'x10' in size. Each year we have turnover in our commercial exhibit space; however, we do offer first right of refusal to the previous year exhibitors.

Current Indoor Commercial and Non-Commercial exhibitors range from various retail businesses and non-profit organizations, to local, county and state agencies. If space does become available, the Fair attempts to select exhibitors who will complement the goals of the fair. These selections depend on the products/services already booked, and what Fair management believes will appeal to the Fair attendee. Exhibitors selected to participate in the Fair are expected to display their products or services in an attractive and professional manner in the assigned booth area, and man their booth 100% during building open times.

New Indoor Commercial (& Non-Commercial) Exhibitor Applications must be returned with a $50.00 non-refundable fee to be in consideration. The application fee is non-refundable, does not guarantee space, and does not apply to any future fees.

APPLICATIONS RECEIVED WITHOUT THE APPLICATION FEE WILL BE DISCARDED!
